Howdy!
Hi, I'm Patrick Foley. I work for Microsoft as an "ISV Architect Evangelist," which means I help software companies succeed building on top of the Microsoft platform.
If that sort of thing makes sense to you, then you will probably be interested in the links on the right side of this page under "For startups/ISVs." The most important of these is probably my team's blog, but I hope you also check out the Startup Success Podcast that I do with Bob Walsh.
This site is also the home of my blog. My blog has a combination of personal and technical content, so if you are just looking for straight-ahead information of interest to ISVs, you are probably better off sticking with my team's blog.
This is my own site, and the opinions expressed here are my own. My opinions should not be taken to represent the official positions of Microsoft, especially of any product group. That said, I love Microsoft technology, and it is in fact my job to tell the world about how to leverage it successfully. I will do my best to present all facts on this site accurately and to express my opinions respectfully.
I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my wife, Paula, and my son, Gus. I grew up here, in the house where my parents still live. My brother and his family live here as well; my sister lives in upstate New York.
Most people - including me - thought I would be a violinist when I grew up, but things changed. Music is still important to me, but I don't get to play much anymore.
If you are trying to reach me, there are several ways. You can follow me on twitter, and reply to @patrickfoley or DM me. You can also email me at Patrick.Foley@microsoft.com.
